Andrew has extensive landscape architectural and horticultural experience in tourism, resort, residential and urban design projects in the tropics. He has been responsible for the design of many memorable resort gardens and swimming pools in Port Douglas, Cairns & the Whitsundays. This includes Peppers Beach Clubs, The Peninsula, The Portsea, Martinique-on-Macrosson and villas in the Beachfront Mirage Estate. His skills have been called upon by the Sheraton in Samoa and now in Bora Bora, Tahiti.  For several years Andrew has been engaged by the Office of Australian War Graves to provide and design and horticultural advice on the management of Commonwealth War Cemeteries and memorials in Queensland and Papua New Guinea. Andrew’s strength is in the visioning of a project at the outset and providing a unique and inspiring landscape character to new developments. His design expertise has been recognised by many international, national and state awards. These include the Australia Council’s inaugural Community Environment Art & Design Award for National Achievement in the Arts for the Gordonvale Townscape project and the listing of Paiam township in the Papua New Guinea highlands by the United Nations Habitat as an Example of World Best Practice. His design work for Munro Martin Parklands in the recently opened Cairns Performing Arts Precinct received Queensland government’s 2020 prestigious Minister’s Award for Urban Design. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the College of Engineering & Science at James Cook University and currently Vice-President of the Australian Insitute of Horticulture.
