This is a landscape design project provided a landscape setting for a significant public art piece by Cairns artist Brian Robinson located on the Cairns Esplanade foreshore. The design layout provided new ways on using and appreciating the art piece in this unique and popular setting. The planting design references ‘Sea Grasses’ reinforces the marine theme of the sculpture while providing scenic vantage points for viewers. The pavements are local porphyry stone in a crazy pave format to complement the adjacent decking and stencilled coloured concrete. The placement of new seating reused those located out of place from a previous layout.
