Dukhan Park

Joseph designed the new Dukhan Park beside the new mosque in 2001. Located 80km west of the capital Doha, the park was to become the focus of life in Dukhan, Qatar. Prior to the development, this Park on this QP town had limited green space and amenities for it’s residence and visitors. The new park provided a layout in the islamic style with amenities for the modern user. A central focus in the symmetrical water features which allows the user to interact with flowing water by sitting on the edge or within via raised stepping stones. At night the main fountains are illuminated. The park provides an open green space, shaded avenues and a shaded childern’s playground. The plantings are colorful for interest and variety while Date Palms shade the central areas they provide a strong framework for the park.
