Wights Mountain

The Wights Mountain house landscape presented LA3 with both an opportunity and a challenge. The site positioned high above the Samford Valley with commanding 270 degree views was striking and serene.
Maintaining the unobstructed views in that direction was the first priority however creating practical and interesting outdoor rooms for the diversification of spatial experiences for the owners was also required.

The house and garden was surrounded by 80 acres of farmland, beneath the backdrop of the Brisbane Forest. The natural setting has influenced the design in both materiality and form.
The design solution created by LA3 uses of natural stone, earthy colours and asymmetrical forms. A contemporary overlay of furnishings and lighting with a rustic patina complement bring this very personal garden.
