Island Resort Character Report

Busuanga, Palawan

LA3 was engaged to select a site for the development of a large integrated resort. Located in a remote location from the provincial airport – Busuanga/Coron, Talapulam Island was a unique opportunity. With remoteness comes pristine beauty and untouched nature particularly for diving. The island itself is inhabited on the north east side however the south and more beautiful area contains some beautiful landscape, white beaches and flat areas ideal for development. These are former Navy facilities and have been preserved from development. A mountain in the centre of the island provides an opportunity for walking and views over the future resort and out to Black Island a limestone monolith. LA3 prepare site analysis, opportunites and constraints and later prepared a masterplan.
